GETTING AROUNDA walking-led southern-city route; station passages and shopping streets still add time on your feet.

The day, in order

  1. Late morning

    Get your bearings in Namba

Begin around Namba and identify the station exit and route back to your base before browsing. The Dotonbori canal area is a later option, not a requirement to start the day at every landmark.

  2. Lunch

    Choose one food priority

Decide whether you want a small snack or a sit-down meal. Takoyaki and okonomiyaki are different formats, not a requirement to order everything.

  3. Afternoon

    Browse toward Shinsaibashi Optional

Let shops and side streets fill the time rather than moving to another distant attraction. Stop before browsing becomes a second endurance walk.

  4. Evening

Return to the canal setting Optional

Enjoy Dotonbori's changing light and settle on dinner. A prominent sign is not a restaurant review; check the menu and the fit for your needs.

Make it lighter

Keep the first area and the meal break. The optional afternoon and evening sections can be removed; you do not need to hurry through everything to have a complete day.

If the weather changes

Use suitable covered shopping sections where they fit your route, but do not assume the whole district or canal walk is covered.

Check before leaving

Restaurant hours and availability vary. Choose a waiting-time limit, ask about ingredients and use the space offered for eating.
